Look around you, the beautiful flowers, the vegetation, and the animals in them, the seas and the animals in them, the sky, and the birds that fly in it. The mountains, the hills, and the valleys. And when you look upward in the air, you see the stars, the moon, and the sun and beyond the sky far from what your eyes can see lies billions of stars and planets organized into different galaxies all in an orderly motion. And looking inward, you see yourself wonderfully made with a complex structure made of cells, tissues, organs, and systems working in harmony and coordinated perfectly to bring about meaningful functionality. How do all these come about and who is behind their existence. Different human-made theories are explaining the origin of the world. Some believe in evolution, some in the Big Bang theory, and some in nothing. This study will show you from the Scriptures that there is a creator behind all that exists – the universe and everything in it.

God ensures life is sustained on earth by putting humankind on the planet that can sustain them and making food available to them. A world with the right natural resources like air and water that can support humans. The uniqueness of the earth is that God made it specifically for human beings.
Scriptural references
Genesis 1:29-30, And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you, it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.

3. What do the heavens declare, and what lessons can learn from it?
Read Psalms 19:1-2, Romans 1:20
Comment
The heavens declare the glory of the one who made them, and they show that they are God’s handiwork. Every day when we see any work of creation, including human beings, they are telling us about the knowledge of God (A creator exists). The invisible character of God, His eternal power, and divine nature (Godhead) can be seen and understood by what he has made. As a result of this, people are without excuse.
Scriptural references
Psalms 19:1-2, The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge
Romans 1:20, For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
4. What is the real basis of the brotherhood of man?
Read Malachi 2:10, Acts 17:26
Comment
All human beings, irrespective of color and race, are all made by one Creator and are all connected by one blood (ancestor). We all have one Father, one God who determines where each person lives on earth. If all humanity understands this, the problem of hate and racism will not arise. And treating one another with treachery will not be there.
Scriptural references
Malachi 2:10, Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously with one another By profaning the covenant of the fathers?
Acts 17:26, And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,
5. If God is our Maker, to whom do we owe our worship?
Read Psalm 95:6, Revelation 4:11
Comment
God, the almighty Creator, is the only one worthy to receive glory, honor, and power. He alone is the one we must bow and kneel in worship because He created us. Giving God due worship is a way of appreciating His goodness, mercy, and the gift of life He gave us. It also shows our love, total allegiance, and loyalty to Him. When you give worship to another person, it demonstrates an act of rebellion and hatred for your Creator. Understanding this point is very important because one of the most significant challenges humanity is facing is the problem of giving worship to the right person. It is important to note here that the main plan of the devil is to direct the reverence due to God for himself, causing the whole world to rebel against its Maker.
Scriptural references
Psalm 95:6-7, Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice:
Revelation 4:11, “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will, they exist and were created.”
Exodus 20:1-6, And God spoke all these words, saying: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. “You shall have no other gods before Me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
6. How does the Creator reckon with time, and why is this knowledge important to us?
Read Genesis 1:14-18, Genesis 1: 3-8
Comment
From Genesis, it is apparent that the Creator puts in place the rotation of the sun and the moon to know the time and seasons, days, and years. To the Creator, a day begins in the evening (sunset) and ends in the evening (sunset). The Creator also put in place a seven-day weekly cycle. The only day He named was the seventh day, and He called it the Sabbath day. A day to rest from our labors. One importance of understanding the time and seasons is that it helps us to know the appointed times to meet with our Creator. The Hebrew word translated seasons is “mow’ed,” which means an appointment, i.e., a fixed time or season, a festival, an assembly, congregation, place of meeting, feast.
Scriptural references
Genesis 1:14-18, Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1: 3-8, Then God said, “Let there be light,”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So, the evening and the morning were the first day. Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. So, the evening and the morning were the second day.
7. Why is the seventh Day of the week unique?
Read Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 16:23, 29, Mark 2:27
Comment
The Seventh Day of the week is unique in the following ways.
1. It is the day the Creator stop creating and rested from His labor.
2. It is the day the Creator sets apart (hallowed, sanctified) for holy use. Note that anything that is hallowed or sanctified is usually for God’s use or service. The Creator hallowed the seventh from the beginning to be used for Him.
3. It is the day the Creator blessed.
4. It is the only day of the week that the Creator gave a specific name. He called it the Sabbath day, to denote its purpose.
5. The Seventh Day is a gift from the Creator to man. After the Creator made man on the sixth day, he created the seventh Day (Day of rest) for him to enjoy. The Sabbath was created for all humanity.
Scriptural references
Genesis 2:1-3, Thus, the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
Exodus 16:23, 29, Then he said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning.’ See! For the Lord has given you the Sabbath; therefore, He gives you on the sixth day bread for two days. Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
Mark 2:27, And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
8. What did God say about everything he had created?
Read Genesis 1: 12, 16-18, 25, 31
Comment
The Creator said everything He created was perfect. There was nothing evil in what God created. Then ask yourself, what is the beginning of evil, and why do we see so much trouble in the world today.
Scriptural references
Genesis 1: 10, And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1: 12, And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:16-18, Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the Day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:25, And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:31, Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.
Conclusions
God created the earth to support and sustain the life of humans, and He upholds everything He made by His mighty power. The whole creations are God’s handiwork, and they show His glory. All human beings, irrespective of color and race, are all made by one Creator and are all connected by one blood (ancestor). God, as the Maker of all things, deserves all the worship, and our allegiance should be to Him alone. God counts day from sunset to sunset, and He puts in place a seven-day weekly cycle. God called the seventh day the Sabbath day and set it apart for holy use. At the end of God’s creative days, He looked at everything and declared that they were very good.
